There is a bewildering array of IT support companies out there, so finding the right IT support for you can sometimes seem a little daunting. However, it is not as difficult as you may at first think.

The first thing to do is to identify your needs. Make a list of all the IT equipment and software you used to carry out your business, then note down what needs to be done to maintain it all in good working order. Once you know what you need you can look for an IT support company to meet those needs.

Onsite Or Remote IT Support?

There are two key types of IT support, which are remote or onsite. Remote IT support gives you phone support and advice and in some cases the ability to allow your IT support company to take control of your PCs and fix problems remotely. If you have very little physical hardware then remote support is probably adequate for you. If your hardware does breakdown an engineer can be called on an adhoc basis.

Onsite support involves an engineer visiting your site on agreed timescales, usually once a week, and physically maintaining your equipment.
